Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using MyCoop (“Service,” “platform”) operated by MyCoop (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using MyCoop, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to bind your organization to these Terms. MyCoop accounts are for organizations (homeschool co-ops and similar groups) and their authorized administrators — not for individual students.

2. Free Trial and Subscription

New organizations receive a 30-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required to start the trial.

After the trial period, continued use requires a paid subscription at the rates listed on our Pricing page. If you do not subscribe, dashboard access will be paused and data held for 90 days before permanent deletion.

Subscriptions are billed annually. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as required by law or at our sole discretion.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MyCoop to:

• Violate any applicable federal, state, or local law
• Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or disruptive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to MyCoop systems or other users’ accounts
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or create derivative works from any part of the platform
• Resell or sublicense access to MyCoop without our written consent
• Use the platform for any purpose other than managing your co-op and its members

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into MyCoop (“Your Content”). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter any data about your co-op members and their families, including compliance with COPPA, FERPA, and any other applicable laws. MyCoop acts as a data processor on your behalf.

You may export your data at any time from the platform settings. See our Privacy Policy for retention details.

5. Intellectual Property

The MyCoop platform, including its design, code, and content, is owned by MyCoop and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

“MyCoop” and related marks are trademarks of MyCoop. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

6. Uptime and Service Levels

We target 99.5% monthly uptime for the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned maintenance. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our reasonable control (force majeure, third-party infrastructure failures, etc.).

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYCOOP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) $100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless MyCoop and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. If you cancel, your access ends at the end of the current billing period. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms or if required by law.

Upon termination, your data will be held for 90 days before permanent deletion. You may request an export during this window.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the platform evolves. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect via in-app notice and email to the organization’s admin. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Licking County, Ohio, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
